The All-Region Mock Audition(s) Program is an opportunity to take your abilities and progress to higher levels.
The highest-level of audition students can potentially reach, once they are in high school, is the Texas All-State Audition. This audition is a recorded audition submitted online. The All-Region Mock Audition(s) Program is an online format that allows participants to record themselves performing chosen portions of their audition music to receive feedback and advice from professional trombonists. This Program provides an opportunity for students to receive additional input, combining with the valuable information given by their band directors and/or lesson instructors. The Program is not a placement or student-versus-student audition. This opportunity allows students to gain additional view points while also receiving an audition experience.
Participation is for any student between 7th-12th grade who is preparing for their All-Region auditions or preparing the All-Region music in preparation for school band assignment/auditions. Professional trombonists listen to the recordings and send feedback to the performer through positive reinforcement and suggestions as to what the performer can do to improve the overall performance. Students not only will receive a “judges” comment sheet for each performance, but a copy of the audition music with suggestions.
This is, IN NO WAY, an alternative to lessons. Just a different perspective from a different view point. The actual All-Region auditions are judged by five people with five different opinions. This Program is simply providing an additional perspective to the ones already received.
The All-Region Mock Audition(s) Program offers participants multiple opportunities to audition. Each mock audition will cover different portions of the All-Region audition music. Students will be given specific instructions on how to proceed with the recordings including pre-determined cuts and guidelines for recording. The amount of mock auditions participants can receive is determined by your choice in the google form. Since the auditions are recorded at the location and time of the participants choosing, multiple auditions are possible. All that's needed is a phone and motivation.

Once we've received the completed google form and, additional information regarding the process will be provided. There is a nominal tuition fee for this program.
